Jeypore (Koraput): A 26-year-old youth died after he slipped into Galigabadar waterfall accidentally in Koraput on Friday.
SK Azad Muhammad of Jagatpur area in Cuttack district along with his four friends visited Galigabadar waterfall near Pattangi after visiting various tourist places in Koraput.
While enjoying the scenic beauty of the waterfall, his leg slipped on the stone floor. He fell about 500 meters below the floor and slipped into a rock. His friends and other tourists searched him, but could not find him.
Later, fire service personnel were contacted who reached the spot, and started an operation. After an hour-long operation, they rescued him stuck inside the rock.
He was immediately taken to Pottangi Community Health Center where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police seized the body for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered at Pottangi police station.
