Youth Drowns In Barrage In Bhadrak’s Akhuapada While Bathing

Bhadrak: A 20-year-old youth reportedly drowned while bathing in a barrage in Akhuapada village under Bhandaripokhari police station in Bhadrak district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Bholanath Behera, son of Ramesh Chandra Behera of Akhuapada village.

According to reports, Bholanath had gone to the barrage with other boys to take a bath around 12 noon. While bathing, he accidentally ventured into deeper water and drowned due to negligence.

Local villagers immediately launched a rescue operation and pulled him out within approximately 10 minutes. He was rushed to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Bholanath was the only son of his parents. His sudden death has left the family shattered.
