Puri: According to reports on Saturday, a youth drowned while swimming and taking a bath in the Bay of Bengal here today. The victim has been identified as Sanjay Kumar Jena of Gopalpur village in Bahanaga tehsil of Balasore district.
According to reports, the young person vanished at about 11 am while swimming in Sector 9 area of the sea. The search efforts are currently ongoing, and a rescue squad is on the scene. Further reports are awaited.
A team of Fire Service Personnel and Life Guards are engaged in the rescue operation. Reports stated that Jena was accompanied by four of his friends to Puri and were spending some good time at the sea beach when the tragedy occurred.
