Athagarh: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old youth drowned while bathing in a pond in Ramchandrapur village under Narsinghpur police station in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
The vicitim has been identified as Bishwajit Dhal.
According to reports, both Biswajit and his father Ditari Dhal went to bathe in the pond near the village on Sunday. While Biswajit’s feet slipped and he drowned in the deep waters, his father went into the water to rescue him. Unfortunately, both drowned in the pond.
Some villagers heard Ditari’s cries for help and jumped into the pond to save the father-son duo. While they could save the father, Biswajit drowned.
Ditari was rushed to the Narsinghpur Community Health Center (CHC) where he is undergoing treatment. When the villagers took Biswajit to the health center, doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
