Bhubaneswar: A young man was electrocuted in a freak mishap at Ghunesh village under Turekela police jurisdiction in Balangir district, on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Durje Bhati (24).
According to reports, he died due to electric shock at around 10 pm on Wednesday night when he was busy removing an electric bulb at a Ganesh mandap.
He was rushed to Turekela Hospital in critical condition but was declared dead by the doctors.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the village.
