Nuapada: Giving a lift to a person on his bike could have proved fatal for Mangal Sagaria of Dumerpani village under Komana police limits of Nuapada district today.
According to reports, Sagaria was travelling on his bike from his village Dumerpalli to Darlipada. Half-way through a youth identified as Hrushikesh Majhi asked Sagaria for a lift on his bike.
After a few meters of travel Majhi asked Sagaria to stop the vehicle.
However, Sagaria did not stop the bike, following which the former and Majhi had heated arguments. Majhi pulled out a pistol and fired a shot at Sagaria.
The bullet scraped through Sagaria’s forehead on the left side. Sagaria had a narrow escape and has been admitted at the District Headquarters Hospital here.
Komana police have arrested accused Majhi from Tarbod bus stand and have seized the weapon of offence (pistol) from his possession.
