Youth Found Dead

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, the body of a young man was found on the railway tracks near Lingaraj Temple Road railway station in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sandesh Kumar Das, a resident of Satya Nagar. He was working as a food delivery agent for online platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy in the city.

Speaking to media, a close friend of Sandesh recalled that they had dinner together the previous night.

“He brought Biryani and we ate together. I noticed he looked upset. When I asked, he shared that he was facing financial difficulties due to low earnings from delivery work. I tried to encourage him, saying things would get better,” the friend said.

They later played an online game before parting ways, with Sandesh returning to work.

“Around midnight, I called him. He said he would continue deliveries till 4 am and then hung up. This morning, after receiving the news, we rushed to the spot,” the friend added.

Local residents who discovered the body alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP). Upon receiving the information, GRP personnel arrived at the scene, initiated an investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
