Bhubaneswar: A youth was found dead in a pond under mysterious circumstances at Birasoti village under Sadar police limits in Kendrapara district, on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Kanhu Charan Nath.
According to family members, Kanhu had bought chicken from the market and cooked dinner for his family on Tuesday evening and served food to everyone. After some time, a few friends invited him to join them for a feast. He left his house around 11 pm but did not return.
His family members tried to contact him over the phone when he failed to return home, but Kanhu did not pick up calls. They found Kanhu’s clothes and mobile but failed to trace him.
His family members reportedly found his body floating in a pond in Birasoti village. Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the scene and sent the body for post-mortem.
Kanhu’s wife has alleged that her husband was murdered, and a conspiracy was hatched to kill him. However, the identity of the perpetrators and the motive behind the murder remain a mystery.
Police have initiated an investigation to unravel the truth behind Kanhu’s death.
The family has alleged that Kahunucharan was murdered and has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. The police have begun an inquiry and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the youth’s death.
