Bhubaneswar: A young man was found dead near the banks of the Mahanadi River under Salipur’s Kishannagar police limits on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Amlan Jyoti Swain, son of Debendra Swain from Sarapada Bodhang village under Nischintakoili police limits.
According to reports, Debendra’s family was staying on rent in Salepur’s Machhuati village. Like every day, Amlan had come to attend yoga classes but didn’t return home.
Despite an extensive search, his family members did not find him. On Saturday, Locals spotted his body near the Mahanadi River, with his motorcycle, clothes, and shoes found scattered nearby.
Upon being informed, police reached the spot and began an investigation.
Amlan’s family has, meanwhile, alleged that he was murdered and thrown into the river.
Police have seized the motorcycle, mobile phone, and other belongings for further investigation. Police investigation is underway to unravel the truth behind Amlan’s mysterious death.
