Cuttack: A youth was found hanging from an electric pole near the Ranihat bridge on the banks of the Taladanda canal under Mangalabag police station in Cuttack on Sunday morning. Police were immediately informed by locals and have begun an investigation. Although the exact cause of death is still unknown, police suspect suicide.
The police have sent the body to SCB Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, and are awaiting the preliminary report and autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death. Locals claim the deceased was not from the nearby area. An eyewitness said that he may have been from outside.
“I passed by the road in the morning around 7:10 AM. But after that, the youth was found hanging. He doesn’t belong to our locality. He may be from outside,” a local resident said.
