Bhubaneswar: A youth was found hanging from the ceiling of his hotel room in the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar on Sunday. The incident has been reported from the Jagamara–Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.
The deceased youth, who has been identified as Durga Prasad Mishra, was a resident of Niali. According to reports, Durga and his friends had booked a room in the hotel to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Durga was in the hotel with three friends, including his girlfriend.
On Sunday morning, his friends found Durga hanging in the hotel room and informed the Khandagiri police, who rushed to the spot and started an investigation. Durga was reportedly found hanging with the help of his girlfriend’s stole and took the extreme step when his girlfriend had gone to the toilet.
The police are questioning Durga’s friends as the precise reason behind Durga’s death is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Durga’s family members have alleged that he was murdered. They said that Durga was called to the hotel by his friends so that they could kill him.
The mobile of the deceased Durga Prasad Mishra will be analysed by the police to find any evidence regarding his alleged suicide. The family of the deceased has, however, brought murder charges.
