Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, a youth hacked his aunt to death following a quarrel over Rs 500 at Dumuria village under Ghatagaon Police limits here late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Hrudayi Das.
Reportedly, Hrudayi had taken Rs 500 from her nephew Sadhu Das’ pocket on Saturday. Later in the night, when Sadhu was unable to find the cash in his pocket, a quarrel ensued. The altercation soon took a violent turn as Sadhu grabbed an axe and hacked his aunt Hrudayi to death.
On intimation, cops reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem. Accused Sadhu Das has been detained and further probe into the matter is underway.
