Kendrapara: A youth jumped into the Luna river in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Sunday to end his life. Identified as Chinmaya Nayak (44) from Amrutbani village under Kendrapara Sadar police limits, the youth jumped off the Karilopatna bridge.
According to reports, Nayak left his bicycle and shoes on the bridge and jumped off the bridge into the flooded river. His sister, who reached the spot after being informed locals, said her brother left in the afternoon home saying that he was going to nearby shop.
After being informed, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. His whereabouts were yet to be traced till the time of filing of this report.
Nayak’s family members said the youth had married 18 months back.
