Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old youth was killed after being shot with an arrow by his uncle over personal enmity in Sunabeda sanctuary area in Nuapada district.
The deceased identified as Ramchan Paharia of Dathunam village in Sunabeda sanctuary region had a personal enmity with his uncle Jalaram Paharia (35).
A feud erupted between the two on Saturday over a trivial matter which took an ugly turn.
Jalaram, irked over the verbal duel, brough his bow and arrow from the house and shot Ramchan at his stomach. Ramchan died on the spot.
The accused removed the arrow from his body to suppress the matter.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and launched investigation after registering a case in this connection. The bow and arrow used in the crime have been seized, police said.
Police said that body has been sent to Komna health centre for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, police said.
