Boudh: Vijaya Dashami turned out to be tragic for the residents of Adenigarh village in Odisha’s Boudh district as one person died in a head-on collision between a car and a scooty on Sunday evening. The fatal accident occurred on Ganesh Bazar Street in Khurda Balangi near National Highway No 57.
The deceased has been identified as Chittaranjan Sahu of Adenigarh village.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a speeding car en route to Bhubaneswar hit Chittaranjan, who was coming from his home on a scooty for some work. Chittaranjan died on the spot while the car driver sustained serious injuries.
Local people rescued the car driver and admitted him to Boudh General Hospital. On the other hand, an irate mob blocked the road demanding compensation to the kin of the deceased.
The police reached the spot and pacified the mob to lift the road blockade. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
