Youth Nabbed from Gujarat For Issuing Death Threat To BJD Candidate Anubhav Mohanty
Cuttack: In a successful operation, a special squad of Commissionerate Police nabbed a person from Gujarat in connection with the death threat issued to Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate for Kendrapada Lok Sabha seat Anubhav Mohanty.
Reportedly, the accused was staying in a rented house at Jhanjirmangala area in Cuttack. He had issued death threat to the Rajya Sabha member on WhatsApp demanding Rs 10 lakh. The accused is a native of Khallikote area in Ganjam, stated reports.
A day after the Phase-IV polls, on April 30, the parliamentarian-cum-Ollywood superstar Mohanty had filed a police complaint at Purighat police station after receiving the threatening messages. Following this, Cuttack DCP Akhileshvar Singh had immediately initiated a probe into the matter.
