Youth Playing ‘Free Fire’ Game Attempts Suicide In Balasore

Balasore: A youth allegedly attempted suicide after playing an online game ‘Free Fire’ on his smartphone. Such an incident has occurred at Gauribelda village in Jaleswar block of Balasore district.

Reportedly, 19-year-old Satyabrata Jena of the village was playing the online game last night. At around 3 AM today, he went to the backyard of his house and hanged himself from a tree with a rope.

He was later found in a critical condition by family members and rushed to G.K Bhattar Hospital in Jaleswar from where he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore after his condition worsened.

It is worthwhile to mention that, in October last year, a school student had committed suicide at Kamarjoda slum of Joda industrial town in Keonjhar district after losing money from the bank accounts of his parents to the online game ‘Free Fire’.
