Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a youth named was stabbed in an attempted murder on Thursday afternoon near Panda Tyre at Jagatpur Golei Chack in Cuttack.
The victim, identified as Sanjeev Shukla, a resident of Ward No. 48, Shikari Sahi in Jagatpur, was allegedly attacked by Vivekanand Bastia, who hails from Nanakar village in the same area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assault stemmed from Sanjeev’s suspected illegal relationship with the accused’s wife. Following the attack, Vivekanand, armed with the knife, was en route to surrender at Jagatpur police station when officers intercepted and arrested him, seizing the weapon.
The injured Sanjeev was rushed to a hospital for treatment, while police have detained Vivekanand for interrogation to uncover further details. Notably, eyewitnesses at the Panda Tyre premises are reluctant to speak to the media, attempting to downplay the incident.
Police are investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding this violent episode, which has sent shockwaves through the locality.
