Balasore: An youth survived narrowly drowning in the Bay of Bengal while taking bath on the Digha beach in West Bengal today morning. The youth, identified as Subhaprasad Mondal is a native of Midnapore and had come to Digha for an outing.
Though the IMD had warned from not going near the sea because of the Depression, the youth was taking pictures on the beach. He has swept away in a high tide but managed to hold on till help arrived.
He was pulled out from the sea with the help of a rubber tube. Locals rushed Mondal to a local hospital where he was treated and discharged soon.
