Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old youth went missing after being swept away by strong currents while bathing in the sea near Digbareni Square in Puri, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Priyanshu Behera, a resident of Utampur village in Jaipur district’s Binjharpur block.
According to eyewitnesses, Priyanshu had come to Puri with his friends. He was taking a bath with his friends when he was swept away by strong currents and he was pulled into the deep sea. Despite frantic efforts by lifeguards and fire brigade personnel, Priyanshu remained untraced.
Till the last report came in, the search operation was in progress to locate the missing youth.
