Keonjhar: A youth went missing on Monday after being swept away by a strong current at the Gundicha Ghagi Waterfall under Ghatagaon police limits in Keonjhar district.
The missing youth has been identified as Debesh Kumar Behera, a resident of Bartana village under Soro police station in Balasore district.
According to sources, Debesh had visited the waterfall along with his family. While enjoying the scenic spot, he was caught in a strong current and was swept away. His family members, along with other tourists present at the site, immediately began searching for him and alerted the local fire brigade.
Upon receiving the information, fire personnel rushed to the spot and launched a search and rescue operation. As of the time of filing this report, the search operation was still underway.
