Bhubaneswar: A youth was thrashed and tied to a pole by villagers in Kulei panchayat under Banpur police limits in Khordha district today for allegedly misbehaving with a minor girl today.
According to reports, the accused hailing from Binjala village allegedly misbehaved with a minor girl of Kulei panchayat at a desolate place while she was going to attend private tuition in nearby Gambharimunda village.
Hearing the cries of the minor girl, locals captured the accused youth and thrashed him after tying him to a pole.
Later, they informed the police, who rescued the accused youth from Mahantigaon and sent him to the Government Hospital at Banpur for treatment. Further investigation by the police is underway.
