Bhubaneswar: A youth and a young woman, suspected to be in a relationship, were found hanging inside a pump house at Burja under Umerkote police station in Nabarangpur district on Monday.
The youth, identified as Sanadhar Bhatra of Pujariguda, worked as a contract employee in the pump house. The woman has been identified as a resident of nearby Kursi village.
Sanadhar was engaged in the water supply work in the pump house. He delayed in releasing water today in the morning following which some villagers reached the pump house to enquire about it.
They found the door of the pump house locked from inside while the window was opened.
Through the window, they found them hanging from the ceiling of the house. They immediately alerted police who rushed to the spot and seized the bodies for post-mortem.
Police suspected that both committed suicide due to failed love.
The reason of the death will be established only after investigation, police said.
Family members of both deceased also remain silent on the matter.
