Mayurbhanj: The body of a local youth was recovered from a pond near Duarsuni Ghati under Bangiriposhi police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Girish Naik, a resident of Baghiabeda village.
According to reports, Girish left home on Sunday but did not return home at night. On Monday morning, locals spotted his body on the bed of the pond and informed the police.
After the body was recovered from the pond, it was found that it had a deep wound on the head. While the reason behind his unnatural death is yet to be ascertained, Bangiriposhi police have started an investigation into the matter.
