Dhenkanal: The mutilated dead body of a young man was found in a cashew plantation near Basoi village under Parjang police station limits of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Biswal, a resident of Basoi village.
According to reports, Manoj was missing since Tuesday evening. He was last seen going to Anlakata village on his bike on Tuesday evening. This morning locals spotted his mutilated body lying in the cashew plantation near the village. His bike was also found beside him. They immediately informed his family and the police about the incident.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem. While the police have launched an investigation into Manoj’s unnatural death, his family members alleged that he was murdered. They added that Manoj was a victim of enmity over a love affair.
Earlier, Manoj’s elder brother Saroj was found dead in a field near Hulurisingha village in the district. A police complaint was filed at that time too, but the police are yet to solve the case.
