Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday arrested two youths for ransacking a private hospital and assaulting a doctor, nurses, and security guards on the Cuttack-Puri road under Badagada police limits in Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, the arrested youths had admitted their relative to the hospital in critical condition. As the patient was suffering from multiple organ failure, the doctors at the private hospital advised relatives to shift the patient to another hospital for better treatment. Following this, the patient was shifted to another hospital, where he succumbed to his ailments.
Angry over the doctors’ advice, the two youths returned to the first hospital and created a ruckus. They assaulted a doctor, nurses, and even the security guards.
The doctor is reported to have sustained injuries in the attacks.
On being informed, a team from Badagada police station reached the hospital and arrested the youths. A case has been registered in this connection and an investigation is underway into the incident.
