Bhubaneswar: Anshuman Chakraborty was diagnosed with an ailment in the pancreas at a very young age. He had to go to the hospital regularly for treatment. At times Anshuman had to be hospitalized for months. After recovering from the disease, he decided to contribute to the care and treatment of other patients.
Today, the name, Anshuman brings a ray of hope for the ailing and needy in Keonjhar. Son of renowned litterateur Debasis Chakraborty of Mandua village. He has evolved as an influencer in the district which has been blessed with bounties by mother nature.
A qualified graduate engineer, Anshuman could not take up jobs because of his ailment. However, he kept himself engrossed in public service. From blood donation to artificial limb donation, cremation of unidentified bodies and giving food to strangers, all this is now this youth’s passion.
If any patient in Keonjhar needs blood, it is very likely that the first call goes to Anshuman. He also arranges food for people in hunger at the bus stand and market complexes, at night.
His friend Akash Raj has helped Anshuman a lot in all forms of public service. They gather information about the poor and the distressed and wake them up to feed them. It has been more than six months, since Anshuman distributed food to the needy, day in and day out.
“He has made a difference by providing wheelchairs to 37 disabled people of Keonjhar through the district administration. When it comes to artificial limbs, he prioritises us, the people of Keonjhar. But Anshuman has a big heart, and his generosity is second to none,” a group of people helped by Anshuman said.
