Bhubaneswar: A local farmer belonging to Vana Samrakhshan Samiti (VSS) of Kandrabhata in Khaprakhol tahsil of Bolangir district has achieved something extraordinary by cultivating sunflowers on 1.50 acres of his land.
The farmer in question is Madhaba Patra who has achieved wonders with the support of the Harishankar field management unit (FMU), facilitated by the Ama Jangala Yojana (AJY) team. His efforts were backed by the Horticulture department of Khaprakhol.
Patra’s journey showcases dedication, innovation, and collaboration in agriculture. With his passion for farming, he ventured into sunflower cultivation, guided by the Harishankar FMU, and received expertise and modern techniques from the Horticulture Department in Khaprakhol.
The AJY team ensured a smooth transition for Madhaba. Despite challenges, Patra’s determination allowed him to overcome obstacles.
Through the collective efforts of the dedicated farmer, Harishankar FMU, the Horticulture Department of Khaprakhol, and the AJY team, he achieved remarkable yields by leveraging modern techniques and making informed decisions.
Patra’s sunflower fields now stand as a testament to his hard work and the support he received. These vibrant sunflowers not only enhance the landscape but also symbolize prosperity for the entire community.
Local officials lauded the efforts of the stakeholders who boosted Patra’s spirits and backed him in time of need to achieve this not-so-ordinary feat.
