Malkangiri Bondaghati’s Girl Sets Example, Digs Well To Address Drinking Water Problem

Malkangiri: The work done by a tribal girl in Malkangiri’s remote hamlet Bandipada has been acclaimed through out the district. The young girl, Malati Sisa, has dug a well to address the drinking water problems of her village which lies on the difficult terrain of Bondaghati in the district.

Malati is one among the few in the remote Bondaghati region who has pursued higher education. Along with her four siblings, one year back, Malati dug a well to address the drinking water problem of the area. The dug well is now catering to the needs of several families in the village.

According to reports, several other wells have been dug up in the village with the help of locals who have drawn inspiration from Malati. There are around 60 families in the village who are now drawing water from these wells for household chores.

Youngsters like Malati are truly examples for the society. They not only take up local issues  and redress grievances, but also act as an inspiration for many to adopt pet projects meant for the society.
