Bhubaneswar: Maraju Sumanth, a 21-year-old boy from Rayagada district of Odisha, along with his dance partner, 15-year-old Sonali Majumdar from Kolkata, has made it to the finals of America’s Got Talent Season 15.
Sumanth and Sonali team together to be popularly known as BAD Salsa who have been enthralling the audiences all over the world for around eight years, let it be the stage of India’s Got Talent or Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
Son of M Jagdish Rao and M Radhakumari, Sumanth has been training with Sonali at Bivash Academy of Dance, Kolkata, from where they coined the name of BAD Salsa.
They performed on song Top Lesi Poddi from South Indian movie Iddarammayilatho in the semi-finale of America’s Got Talent. However, at the last minute, they were up against singer Kenadi Dodds and mentalist Max Major and it was up to the audience in America and the judges to move an act to the next round.
America chose to save Kenadi Dodds and move her on, which left the judges to decide between Max Major and Bad Salsa. Finally, the judges decided in favour of Bad Salsa.
