Paradip’s Engineer-Cum-Environmentalist Earns Praises In PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat

Bhubaneswar: An engineer from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha was mentioned in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme for his work towards the restoration of forests.

Amaresh Naresh Samanta, an Assistant Engineer at Paradip Port Trust, has been planting trees for over two decades and has built over 20 forests in this period.

In the recent Mann Ki Baat radio talk held on Sunday, PM Modi said, “Amaresh has planted small forests, which protects many villages today. Friends, if we work with the society for such endeavours, we can achieve great results.”

Amaresh has been passionate about planting trees since his teenage years. He along with his friends have started an organization Baba Balunkeswara Gramya Bikash Parisada to save forests.

The organisation has planted over 20 forests in various villages of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara district. Amaresh has also been spreading awareness on saving and planting trees.

After earning praises from the Prime Minister he said, “I have sacrificed everything for this noble and hard work. My life my time soul mind every moment and earning, everything is behind it.”

Amaresh further stated that he wants more true dedication should be used for the betterment of society, especially for the coming generation. And he will continue this job till the end of his life.
