Toronto-Based Odia Youth Contributes Rs 4 Lakh For Oxygen Concentrators In Jajpur

Jajpur: At a time when people across the country are struggling for getting medical oxygen for Covid-19 patients, an Odia NRI has donated Rs 4 lakh for procurement of oxygen concentrators for his home district.

The NRI here is Shibashis Dash who is working as a Mechanical Engineer in Canada. He is a native of Jajpur. Dash has pledged Rs 4 lakh for the Jajpur district administration for installing oxygen concentrators at the district headquarters hospital, and other suitable medical facilities of the district.

In the first phase, five oxygen concentrators will be procured from Dash’s contribution. He has committed to donating further for getting three more such life-saving equipment.

Dash is a native of Eradang Natara village. He was born in raised in the Jajpur district. A student of Jajpur district school and NC College, Dash is now residing in Toronto.

The plight of people for oxygen triggered the emotions of Dash towards his native. He decided to make the contribution and communicated the idea to his family.

The noble act of Dash has been praised by Additional Collector AK Mallick and Jajpur CDMO Dr SS Bal. Dash’s father Dilip Kumar Dash has expressed happiness over his son’s endeavours and dedication for his home district.
