Vidya Balan’s Shree Ganeet Sambalpuri Saree Finally Finds A Keeper

Bhubaneswar: The much-debated Shree Ganeet Sambalpuri Saree, that Vidya Balan proudly donned for ‘Shakuntala Devi’ promotions has finally found a keeper.

Utkalamrita, a premium brand of Sabat Exports, had put the saree for an e-auction on August 15. And 20-year-old girl Debanshi Mishra, who is studying in studying at IIT Guwahati, has won the online auction of the Sambalpuri Bandha Silk Saree with a bidding price of Rs 55,000.

Utkalamrita shared the update via Twitter. Debanshi too thanked the organisation and said that “I am really delighted to get to help and promote Odisha handloom. And I feel really happy to be the owner of this beautiful saree.”

As previously mentioned, the main idea behind this initiative was a simple token of appreciation for the weaver of the saree, Bhagabat Meher. The entire bidding amount will be handed over to Meher.
