San Francisco: Several current and former MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighters have offered to train tech billionaire Elon Musk for the much-anticipated cage fight with Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
About eight UFC fighters, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champions, and more, led by former MMA champ Chad Robichaux have offered to train Musk because they “don’t like Zuckerberg”, reports New York Post.
“No one likes Zuckerberg because he’s a communist that’s suppressing our speech, and ruining most of our businesses. We feel like he needs his a-beat,” Robichaux, who runs the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a veterans group, was quoted as saying.
“I’ve been a victim of having my First Amendment rights violated by Zuckerberg. Every Monday I have to have a staff meeting and we have to figure out what we can and can’t say so we don’t get suppressed,” he added.
Moreover, a slew of other fighters shared their disdain for the Meta CEO, including UFC fighter Jalen Turner, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson, Strikeforce Champion and UFC title contender Nate Marquardt, current UFC contender Alex Morono, and others.
“I have to side with Elon Musk… (because) of free speech. Zuckerberg is kind of taking away free speech on his platforms, Musk is more of a stand-up guy,” Jackson said.
According to the report, the trained fighters see 52-year-old Musk as their chance for revenge — even as Musk and Zuck have lately jabs on social media over a possible cage fight. Most recently, Musk mocked Zuckerberg by calling him “chicken”.
When an X (formerly Twitter) user posted Zuckerberg’s statement that Musk “isn’t serious” about the cage match and “it’s time to move on”, the tech billionaire replied: “Zuck is a chicken.”
Meanwhile, Musk mentioned that he has been in contact with the Italian prime minister and minister of culture about hosting the event.
However, Zuckerberg, who holds a blue belt in jiu-jitsu and recently won gold and silver medals in a tournament, said no date has been agreed.
