**Rourkela:** Receiving compliant of financial irregularities, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted raids on the official residences of three officers of Lathikata block in tribal-dominated Sundargarh district here.
Vigilance sources informed that the raids were being conducted at 7 places at a time, including the houses of their relatives since Friday morning and the raids were continuing till the filing of the news.
While the three officials have reportedly been the Lathikata BDO Purna Chandra Bhoi, assistant executive engineer Raj Kishore Sahu and junior engineer Buddheswar Sahu, their houses located in Chhend Colony in the steel city here were raided, the official sources said.
Sources also said, Vigilance conducted the simultaneous raids while probing into the complaint of financial irregularities to a tune of approximately Rs 43 lakhs in the construction of rural roads under the block’s jurisdiction.
It has also been alleged that the work order was accorded in 2017 in gross violation as no open tender was invited as per the existing norms.
As per complaint received by the Vigilance, NTPC & SAIL Joint Venture (NSPCL) had sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.32 crores from the CSR Fund for construction of rural roads in Lathikata block. Instead of calling an open tender, the BDO and two engineers allegedly executed the road construction work of inferior quality and allegedly pocketed an amount of approximately Rs 43 lakhs.
