Bhubaneswar: Rainfall above 100 mm has been recorded in Balangir and Bargarh districts of Odisha in the last 24 hours, informed Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi on Wednesday.
While 145.1 mm average rainfall has been recorded in Balangir, 112.5 mm recorded in Bargarh.
In Bolangir district, Balangir block has recorded rainfall of 555.0 mm, Puintala block recorded rainfall of 333.0 mm and Deogaon block has recorded rainfall of 238.0 mm.
Rainfall between 100 mm and 200 mm has been recorded in 17 more blocks of Odisha, said Sethi.
The rainfall has brought a change in the drought-like situation. Rainfall in excess of 3.4 per cent has been recorded across Odisha with surplus rainfall in eight districts, normal rainfall in 15 districts and deficit rainfall in seven districts, he added.
He further informed that no casualties have been reported till now. Units of ODRAF, NDRF and Odisha Fire Services have been deployed at various places in the affected districts to tackle any untoward situation.
Reportedly, 15 ODRAF teams have been deployed in 12 districts and three NDRF teams in three districts.
