Bhubaneswar: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), which is the student wing of the Indian National Congress, on Saturday suspended Odisha State Convenor Itish Pradhan from the primary membership of the organization for breaching organizational discipline.
The development came following Pradhan’s allegation against OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik accusing him of ruining the prospects of the party in Odisha by patronising his family.
Pradhan had questioned Patnaik’s decision to field his son Navajyoti Patnaik as an Assembly candidate in 2019 elections while stating that there were many candidates more eligible than he was.
He had further asserted to report all the irregularities to the Congress high command and demand Patnaik’s removal.
