**Bhubaneswar: ** As prayers across Odisha are still on for the fast recovery and as all are agog to know the health condition of the recently separated conjoined twins Jaga and Balia of Kandhamal at Delhi AIIMS, the AIIMS on Monday released a press note informing that all is well with the brother duo in ICU as their condition is improving.
According to the AIIMS sources, a team of 25 doctors are all alert and keeping a round-the-clock watch on them. Both are stable and their respiratory organs are functioning normally. While their condition is gradually improving, they are to be in ICU for 10-15 days more for betterment.
Jaga is responding to the gesture and posture of the doctors.
Notably, the conjoined twins underwent their decisive second ‘operation of separation’ on October 25 for a marathon 16 hours surgery since morning on the day.
AIIMS Delhi Director Randeep Guleria on the next day of the successful surgery of separation had informed media, “20 surgeons, 10 anaesthetists during this marathon 16 hours surgery and 20 hours of anaesthesia.”
On October 28, Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena, who is constantly monitoring the development, had informed media that by grace of Lord Jagannath, the health condition of both Jaga-Balia is well. The health condition of Jaga has been improving faster than Balia.
The Minister had also informed that Jaga has started moving his hands and legs and opened his eyes. As per the information provided by the AIIMS, it will take more time to be stable completely.
Odisha is hopeful that by the grace of Lord Jagannath, Odisha’s presiding deity, Jaga-Balia will return their State here very soon after recovery.
While Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is all praise for the team of doctors and staff at Delhi AIIMS, he is also optimistic of Jaga-Balia’s speedy recovery. He has also reportedly assured the AIIMS that money would not be a constraint in the further treatment as the State Government is ready to meet all the expenses.
Initially the State Government has already pledged Rs 1 crore with the AIIMS, Delhi authorities much prior to the two-phase complicated operations of the cute twins Jaga and Balia. They along with their parents have been there under the direct supervision of Odisha Government for over the past four months.
