New Delhi: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said it has secured an ultra-mega contract worth more than Rs 15,000 crore to build gas compression facilities and related infrastructure for a client in the Middle East.

The project was awarded through a letter of award issued in FY26, the company said.

It noted that L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) will execute the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis and the facilities will be developed for new onshore installations to process sour gas.

The project includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities.

In addition, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will also execute two 230-kV extra-high-voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.

The company classifies orders worth more than Rs 15,000 crore as ultra-mega, according to the company.

However, L&T did not disclose the exact value of the contract or the name of the Middle East client.

“The contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure,” E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said.

The project draws on L&T’s experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces its capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications, he added.

Moreover, LTEH Onshore is one of L&T’s largest EPC businesses and provides lump-sum turnkey solutions across the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors.

Following this, shares of L&T on Monday traded 0.44 per cent higher at Rs 4,106.40 apiece on the BSE.
