**Puri:** Despite a ban, pictures of Srimandir once again went viral on social media thereby exposing the poor security measures at the 12th century shrine. This time, a cop posted photograph on his Facebook wall making it viral.
Clad in while dhoti and a garb over his shoulders, with a faint smile on his lips, the photos of Sub Inspector of Puri Sea Beach police station, Dilip Panda offering ‘Pinda Daana’ on the auspicious day of ‘Mahalaya’ on the ‘Bahispahacha’ or (22 steps) has elicited sharp reactions from the devotees.
It is worth mentioning that carrying of cameras and video recording devices inside the temple is prohibited.
It clearly shows the authorities’ callous attitude in maintaining adequate and strict measures to prevent such incidents, even several such incidents have come to the forefront in the past few years.
During the repair work of the Jagamohan (the hall facing the sanctum sanctorum) of the 12th century shrine, the photos were uploaded on social media causing much furore.
