Sundergarh: The district police have arrested four persons in connection with the robbery which occurred at Utkal Grameen Bank at Kirei on Tuesday. The accused have at least 150 cases of robbery, dacoity and murder against them in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha, the police said.
Sundergarh Superintendent of Police, Sagarika Nath had setup three teams led by Sadar SDPO to trace the accused. Cash of Rs 32,140, four mobiles, two motorcycles and four pistols were seized from their possession.
The inter-State cooperation team was led by Deputy SP (Probationer) Santosh Kumar Barik, the local verification team was led by Inspector BK Pradhan and a cyber team was tracing calls to track the movement of these criminals, the police added.
On July 27, four unidentified persons entered the bank, terrorised the staff and fled with Rs 2,87 lakh cash, gold, and other valuables. “This is a good example of how timely action and symbiotic inter-State cooperation between State police can lead to early detection and apprehension of dreaded criminals,” Nath said.
