Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, 17 passengers sustained injuries after a bus overturned after hitting a road divider on NH 20, near the Chandpur area coming under Panikoili police limits, in the early hours of Sunday.
According to reports, a private passenger bus, carrying Kanwariyas (devotees of Lord Shiva) from Anandpur to Puri, overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a road divider near the Chandpur area, which comes under the jurisdiction of Panikoili police limits of Jajpur district.
All the injured passengers were immediately rushed to the Jajpur Road Hospital for first-hand treatment.
On being informed the police officials had reached the accident spot, and started an investigation into the matter.
The private passenger bus has been seized by the Panikoili police.
