Devotees To Be Barred From Jagannath Darshan At Puri Srimandir For Five Hours Today

Bhubaneswar: Devotees will be deprived from the darshan Lord Jagannath and siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhara at the Puri Srimandir for five hours on Monday in view of the Khasapada Lagi Niti.

According to the SJTA, the ritual will be conducted from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm. Khasapada Lagi Niti is a secret ritual and hence darshan of the deities will remain prohibited during this period.

It is worth mentioning here that the Khasapada Lagi Niti is conducted on the Dark 14th of the Chaitra month of the Hindu almanac. It is specially conducted Shreepayars (holy feet) of the deities. The lords’ feet are covered with white clothes.

Khasapada Lagi Niti is conducted two-three times a year, said the official. In order to conduct those rituals, the main doors of the temple will be closed after the offering of second prasad at Bhoga Mandap in the afternoon.
