Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to revamp the process for obtaining Learner’s Licence (LL) to drive motor vehicles.
Learner’s Licence system will be more stringent and user friendly, the State Transport Authority (STA) has informed through a tweet this evening.
A notification attached to the STA’s tweet says that all the LL test centre of 38 Regional Transport Offices(RTOs) will be fitted with CCTV cameras by the end of this month.
The video footage will be monitored at STA to make the test process transparent, it added.
It said that even the LL Test Centre of RTO Cuttack will be on public domain on a pilot basis and anyone can see the LL Test Centre and observe the test process. The viewing link of RTO Cuttack LL Test Centre will be available in the STA website, it added.
“In order to improve the quality of the examination, the number of questions the candidate has to answer has been increased to 20 from earlier 10 questions,” the notification stated.
The notification further says that as candidates are facing difficulty in handling the mouse while appearing the computerised LL test, the existing computers will be replaced by Touch screen computers in all the RTOs by March 2021.
In order to make candidates acquainted with the process, LL mock test kiosks will be provided in all RTOs so that they go better prepared for the test.
The notification has advised candidates to go through the LL question bank and appear for the mock test at www.parivahan.gov.in to acquire knowledge on traffic rule and road safety.
Besides, Driving Licence (DL) centres of all RTOs will be fitted with CCTV cameras by December 31 this year and the test process will be monitored by STA, the notification further said.
