Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued notification for establishment of small and medium ports in 14 places in the State, informed Commerce & Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera today.
Replying to a question by BJD MLA Prafulla Samal, Behera said that the government has issued notification for establishment of small and medium ports at Bichitrapur, Subarnarekha river mouth, Bahabalapur, Chandipur, and Inchudi in Balasore district; Chudamani, and Dhamra in Bhadrak district; Jatadhar river mouth in Jagatsinghpur; Astarang, and Baliharchandi in Puri district; Palur, Gopalpur, and Bahuda river mouth in Ganjam district and riverine port at Akhadasali in Kendrapara district.
The Minister informed that the Odisha government presently has no plans to establish a riverine at Chandbali on the Baitarini river.
