Reservation Of Posts For Panchayat Polls Completed At District Level
Bhubaneswar: One more step has been covered towards holding panchayat polls in the State.
District Collectors have submitted the final list for reservation of posts to the State Election Commission (SEC) after resolving issues pertaining to reservation at the district level.
This was informed by the Secretary of the SEC.
On the 30th of this month, the State government will be announcing the reservation of posts in Zilla Parishads. Panchayat election in the State will be held with a maximum of 50% reservation of posts.
District Collectors have submitted the final list of reservation for the posts of ward members, sarpanches, panchayat samiti members and block chairman at the district level.
District Collectors have finalized the reservation list for the posts of 92,000 ward members, 6,800 sarpanches, panchayat samiti members and block chairmen.
Before finalizing the list, hearing of objections were conducted at the district level.
The State government will submit the list for reservation of posts in the Zilla Parishads to the SEC on October 30.
Secretary of the SEC said that after completion of these processes voter list will be prepared.
