Bhubaneswar: An Indian orthopaedic Dr Girikumar Patil prefers to be holed up in a bunker below his house in Severodonetsk in Donbas region of war-torn Ukraine than return home without his pet animals.
Dr Girikumar Patil, who hails from Tanuku in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh is not ready to leave behind his pets-an jaguar, a black panther and three Italian mastiff dogs.
According to reports, Dr Patil has said that he won’t abandon his pets to save his life as he loves them as his children.
He has said that he would protect them till his last breath.
Dr Patil has claimed that he had called the Indian embassy but did not get a proper response.
Dr Patil is popular as Jaguar Kumar had visited Ukraine in 2007 to study medicine and later settled in Donbas after graduating. He works as an orthopaedic in a local government hospital.
