Bhubaneswar: Sergiy Kyslytsya, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, has held the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) responsible for the military operation of Russia against Ukraine.
“In fact, the war started in 2014. It is a historical embarrassment to humanity and to this particular organisation that has failed to take the necessary actions in the course of the last eight years,” he said.
During an emergency meeting of the Security Council on Ukraine today, Kyslytsya demanded that Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya of Russia relinquish his responsibilities as a Chair as President of the Security Council as a representative of a country that egregiously violated the charter.
After the meeting, Kyslytsya informed that he has demanded that Nebenzya must pass his duties to someone in the Security Council who is capable to perform the duties of the President of the Council.
Kyslytsya further said that he is looking forward to tomorrow’s meeting of the Security Council where an appropriate draft resolution will be put to vote and called upon everyone to vote in favour.
