Bhubaneswar: Newly-appointed Director General of Odisha Police, Sunil Bansal, visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri along with his wife on Monday and had a darshan of the deities.
On being asked about the installation of CCTV cameras in Puri for crime control, Bansal said that the government has made a special effort in curbing crimes with the help of technology.
Puri has always been in focus, therefore, there will be efforts to implement the use of the technologies such as CCTV cameras in Puri and other areas of the State for the purpose of crime control.
Answering queries on Odisha Police’s action against the narcotics trade, the DGP said that police is keeping a keen eye on the narcotics trade and has done a good job in 2021.
Many cases have been registered and with many seizures, the narcotics trade has been brought under control. The Government has also constituted a new cell to deal with it. The police are strengthening its efforts and hope to do better, he added.
