Dhenkanal: Nine persons have been arrested in connection with the January 12 loot incident at Odisha Gramya Bank under Rasol police limits of Dhenkanal district.
Dhenkanal SP Loganayagi Divya V informed that four armed miscreants had forced themselves into the Rasol branch of Odisha Gramya Bank on the afternoon of January 12 and had looted cash and gold ornaments.
During the investigation, police found the involvement of 11 persons in the loot. Six of them were directly involved in the dacoity. While four had entered the bank, one had closed the bank shutter and one was waiting outside the bank.
Four persons were involved in the conspiracy to dispose off the stolen items and arrange persons. Out of the 11 persons, nine have been arrested, including five who had directly participated in the dacoity.
A total of 11,55,000 cash, 5.358 kg gold, one Bullet bike, one Apache bike, one Honda Activa scooter, four stolen mobile phones of bank staff, Digital Video Recorder of the bank’s CCTV, and one weapon, have been recovered from their possession, informed the SP.
